This modern people-mover
is extremely fast, with a train arriving every
few minutes. Fares range from 80 cents to $1.80
and are available from vending machines at the
stations. Operating hours vary a little but trains
run from around 5.15am to 12.49pm. It's wise to
check what time the last train leaves if you're
planning a late night.
Currently, tickets are sold as ez-link
cards which the commuter taps on the entry and
exit gantries which lead to the platforms. When
the green light illuminates, proceed through the
ganrty. You might prefer the convenience of a
stored value ez-link card which will allow you
to take multiple trips on the train and bus, without
buying a ticket every time.

Bus fares range from 70
cents to $1.40 on a non-air conditioned bus and
80 cents to $1.70 on an air-conditioned bus. Provide
the correct fare, as drivers do not give change.
The Transit Link Guide (for bus and MRT services)
is your fail-safe guide, available from MRT station
counters.
You may also purchase a stored value
ez-link card which will allow you to take multiple
trips on both the train and bus without buying
a ticket every time. When the value runs out,
simply top it up at the nearest train station.
The ez-link card should be tapped as you enter
the bus and when you exit. The maximum fare will
be deducted when you board the bus and once you
tap the card upon your exit, the correct fare
will be reimbursed if you haven't travelled the
full distance.
